Foyer Ministry

During the week we see many people pass through our foyer as they come to activities. We pray they may be blessed in some way as they see our ministry in action. We thank Pam for keeping contact with these groups. These folk are invited to leave prayers on the Prayer Tree which we include in prayer times in small group and worship. They are also invited to explore the books and pamphlets available and feel free to take them home. They also have access to the bread supplies now coming from the Surrey Hills Bakery. We are finding folk are becoming part of our ministry as they are also leaving products in the food and toiletry box for distribution the food banks we supply. May we grow to see these people as being an important part of our Burwood Community.

Social Justice

Our Congregation has a proud record of supporting the rights of Australia's First Peoples, immigrants and refugees. It supports the work of indigenous groups, Uniting Care agencies, Frontier Services and many overseas aid organisations.

Regular Sunday worship

Come and worship with us at 10am Sunday mornings. We enjoy uplifting worship worthy of a loving and inclusive God.

All are welcome regardless of age, gender, race, or sexual orientation. We particularly welcome faith seekers: anyone who is keen to find meaning and purpose in a topsy-turvy and often contradictory world.

Houses of Hope - Hyslop House

Our congregation is a proud partner to Lentara and Baptcare in supporting Asylum Seekers through housing accomodation and physical needs where possible.

Seasonal Services and Special events

Our congregation loves to get involved in many occasional and regular events such as the annual Burwood Traders Day, singing Christmas Carols in Toorak Rd at Christmas time, International Day of Peace and many others. Please see our Events page for more details of upcoming events.

Emergency Relief

Our congregation actively support Uniting and its programs of care, support and emergency relief. To that end we participate in Uniting's Pancake Day offering delicious pancakes, tea and coffee as well as a friendly chat with passersby, our bus-stop folk and local traders.

Our congregation relies upon the expertise and resources of our local emergency relief agencies - Uniting at Burwood Heights Uniting (corner of Burwood Highway and Blackburn Rd) and Camcare ( 51 St Johns Ave, Camberwell and 4 Y Street Ashburton).

We support the physical needs of these agencies where-ever possible and do not offer emergency relief ourselves.
